J. Witty Spirits was born out of a desire to bring an organic sensibility and a handcrafted touch to the world of liqueurs.
Founder Jill Witty is a former chef and caterer. Several years ago, when she was working in South America, she happened upon a little shop where a husband and wife made homemade spirits and chocolates. This experience planted a seed in Jill, whose passion for tinkering in the kitchen, coupled with her love for liqueurs, made her perfectly suited to creating homemade liqueurs. After spending two years to perfect her recipes and set up her business, Jill launched J. Witty Spirits and debuted her first flavor, an organic chamomile liqueur.
Jill holds a B.A. from Yale University and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, she now divides her time between Berkeley, California and Portland, Oregon.
